About the museum
The Waldaschaff local history museum is housed in the Alte Knabenschule (old boys' school), built in 1852. It offers a look at life in a village shaped by farming and crafts in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and shows how people and animals lived together back then.
The collection includes a shoemaker's workshop, a wheelwright's shop and a saddlery, as well as horse harness, sleigh bells, toys and baby carriages from around 1890 onward. Plows, harrows and threshing machines illustrate how fields were worked in the past, while household utensils show how food was prepared. There are also various vehicles, from carriages to sleighs. School classes especially like the collection of mousetraps.
