About the museum
The private toy museum on Grabenstraße in Traben-Trarbach displays dolls and toys from past decades. The collection includes wax and porcelain dolls, doll houses, toy trains, cars and tin toys; well-known doll manufacturers such as Schildkröt are also represented. The oldest doll dates from 1830: only its porcelain head has survived, so the leather body had to be made anew.
A special piece is the doll "Gerda" with real hair, which recalls the doll from Else Ury's children's book series "Nesthäkchen". For children, selected toys such as dolls and a model railway are ready to try out.
