About the museum
Artist Ruben Talberg (born 1964 in Heidelberg) founded the Talberg Museum in Offenbach am Main in 2011 as a museum for a single artist. It is devoted solely to his own work and to the art movement he founded, Neo-Fluxus, whose manifesto he published in 1995 and which is oriented around the idea of constant flow.
At the heart of the collection are the “Manifolds,” reliefs and sculptures that, according to the museum, are gathered here in the largest number in the world. In addition there are drawings and studies (Talgrams), photographs from several decades (Talgraphs) and editions (Talworx). According to the museum, the holdings total more than 1,000 works; only a curated selection is on display, as the house also serves as an archive and depot.
The museum sees itself as a private place for encounters with art and, by its own account, follows the ethical guidelines of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). Visits cannot be made spontaneously, only by prior arrangement; group tours are offered in English.
