Traktorenmuseum Pauenhof
By its own account, Germany's largest tractor and agricultural machinery museum: more than 360 tractors in halls on a farm in Sonsbeck.

About the museum
The Pauenhof on the Lower Rhine already appears on maps from the 12th century. Until 1969 it was run as an ordinary farm, after which it specialized in raising piglets. In 1988 Johannes Troost, who had registered several patents and utility models in the agricultural machinery industry, gave up farming and converted the farm into a museum within two years.
His passion for collecting began in 1976, when he rescued an old Hanomag from the scrapyard. By the opening in 1990, around 120 tractors had been gathered. Historic agricultural machines were added later, and even the farm restaurant was decorated in an agricultural-machinery style with machine parts.
In 1999 Norbert Stapper took over the museum and has managed it ever since. Today the site shows more than 360 tractors in ten halls covering about 5,000 square meters, along with equipment ranging from small devices to combine harvesters, including products from well-known and almost forgotten manufacturers at home and abroad. In the four-hectare park, visitors can drive a tractor themselves for a fee; for children there is a playground with tractors they can climb on.
