About the museum
World of Illusion is a privately run visitor attraction on three floors of Central Plaza, on Dame Street in the centre of Dublin. It presents more than eighty illusions and interactive exhibits that are meant to challenge how visitors see and sense the world.
Among the exhibits are a gravity-defying room, infinity mirrors and a vortex tunnel, together with many other rooms that play tricks on perception. The visit is self-guided, and the operators recommend allowing 45 to 75 minutes. Optional photo souvenirs can be bought on site from a third-party company, and one of the photo points uses background-removal software to create an effect that cannot be copied with a visitor’s own phone.
The attraction welcomes school tours, groups, birthday parties and private hire, and it is open daily from the morning until late evening.
