About the museum

The Museo Fisogni arose from the passion of its founder, Guido Fisogni, an entrepreneur and collector. At the beginning of the 1960s, for work reasons, he found in a sand quarry an old five-litre Bergomi petrol pump, abandoned and in very poor condition. He recovered it and kept it. From then on, for over thirty years, work and hobby intertwined and gave rise to a collection that experts of industrial art consider unique and particularly rich.

The collection, which began as an occasional gathering, has become an orderly and structured museum, also thanks to the conservation restorations carried out by Alfredo Cattaneo and later by Giuseppe Croce. The protagonists are the petrol pumps, accompanied by plates, cans, globes, toys, signs, packaging and advertising graphics that bear witness to the speed of change in the industrial world.

The declared aim is to recover the past, document the progress of technology and give dignity, including aesthetic dignity, to the vintage industrial object produced in series. The museum also organises events, ceremonies and car gatherings, in its spaces or in the nearby Villa Castiglioni, and can be visited with a virtual tour.
