About the museum
The Asselborn mill is considered one of the oldest watermills in the Grand Duchy. Its origins go back to 1036, when the Abbey of St. Maximin acquired the Asselborn estate in an exchange with the Stavelot-Malmedy monastery.
Today the mill is part of the Domaine du Moulin d’Asselborn, a hotel with a restaurant. The museum is located in the hotel building and displays the equipment and machines once used to grind grain. In an interactive exhibition, visitors can experience the traditional milling process for themselves.
