About the museum
The museum was founded by a non-profit association to present the history of the customs and excise administration and the daily work of Luxembourg’s customs officers. It opened on April 22, 2003, in Esch-sur-Alzette. Since April 30, 2015, its collections have been housed in the customs and excise directorate in Luxembourg-Hamm.
The permanent exhibition spans four floors of the administrative building. It covers the history of the administration and its link to the Grand Duchy’s economic agreements, presents records and documents, and shows how customs officers’ work tools have evolved.
