About the museum
The Harte Meijer Accordion Museum is a private collection in Gasselternijveenschemond. It is housed in a barn next to the collector's home and describes itself as the smallest accordion museum in the Netherlands, possibly with the largest collection. More than 200 accordions and harmonicas are on display, covering around 200 years of accordion making.
Among the curiosities is a tiny instrument that combines a music box and a cigarette case. There are also harmonicas, other musical instruments, figurines and songbooks. Harte Meijer also deals in new and used accordions and is involved in organizing accordion festivals in the region.
