About the museum
The AGA Museum commemorates the Swedish company AGA (Aktiebolaget Gas Accumulator), founded in 1904, and the inventor Gustaf Dalén from Lidingö, who owned the brand. AGA became known for gas lamps, beacons and cooking stoves, and later also made radios, televisions and technical equipment.
The museum is located on an industrial estate in Emmen and shows how the company developed. The collection includes gas lamps, televisions, radios, record players, stoves, measuring instruments and signal lamps for Morse code, along with cookbooks, photos, magazines and documents. The archive includes around 22,500 photos, and an AGA car about a hundred years old is considered the last freely drivable vehicle of this make in the world.
The objects come partly from the company itself, partly from purchases, estates and donations. Visitors stay an hour and a half to two hours on average.
