About the museum
The Elvis Presley Museum in Molkwerum is a private museum in the Antiekboerderij “De Marpleats”, an old farmhouse on the tourist route between Stavoren and Hindeloopen. The collector Joke van Gent, by her own account an Elvis fan and collector since 1956, opened it in 2000.
On display are, among other things, a signed guitar that Elvis played in 1959 during his military service in Germany, clothing from that period, and a shirt from the film “Jailhouse Rock” together with MGM film documents. There are also the first five singles on the Sun label, film posters, signed record sleeves and photos.
The farm spans three floors and also serves as a shop for antiques, 1950s memorabilia and restored American jukeboxes.
