About the museum

The Izba Pamięci Wincentego Pola is housed in the building of the Wyspa Skarbów cultural centre at ul. Turystyczna 3 in Sobieszewo, a seaside district of Gdańsk on Sobieszewo Island. The cultural centre belongs to the Gdańsk Archipelago of Culture (Gdański Archipelag Kultury) and looks after a “small museum” devoted to Wincenty Pol.

Wyspa Skarbów combines regional tradition with contemporary activity: it is linked to the history of the mouth of the Vistula into the Baltic Sea, organises festivals, exhibitions, art and ecological workshops, and promotes local creativity. Since the end of July the building has been undergoing revitalisation; during this time the institution runs open-air events, workshops for children and walks.
