About the museum
The Ochotnicza Straż Pożarna (volunteer fire brigade) in Szczuczyn has been active since the end of 1882. The museum was established in 1982 to commemorate the centenary of its activity and is run by the local OSP unit.
The museum is housed in a wooden building of a former fire station, erected at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The building was assigned for museum purposes in 1982. In 2021 the façade was renovated by American soldiers stationed in the region.
The collection includes documents, photographs, fire-service equipment and fire uniforms, which show the history of the fire brigade in Szczuczyn from the 19th century onwards.
