About the museum
In 1974, EPFL was among the first universities to establish a public programme on architecture. The exhibition space has borne the name Archizoom since 2007, following a retrospective on the Italian group Archizoom Associati, which combined design with research and political engagement.
In the spirit of this stance, the space invites visitors to look at architecture critically and to take the measure of the built environment in all its dimensions. Exhibitions and lectures are meant to generate and disseminate knowledge, connect research and theory with the experience of visitors, and bring practical skill into dialogue with academic thinking.
Archizoom is located in the SG building on the EPFL campus. The programme brings together architecture, civil and environmental engineering, and the humanities. Since 2026 the space has been working with EPFL's Archives de la construction moderne (ACM): plans, sketches, correspondence and photographs are brought out of storage and made visible. In addition to the exhibitions, the programme includes lectures, guided tours and events; a podcast accompanies the team's work. Admission is free.
