About the museum
The Fahrzeug-Museum in Bäretswil in the Zürcher Oberland goes back to the Junod family's private passion for collecting. Jean-Louis Junod's private vehicle collection grew into a museum that has been open to visitors since 2004. It is still run by the family across several generations, who often accompany guests through the exhibition in person.
On around 1,400 square metres a broad range of means of transport has been assembled: automobiles from 1886, motorcycles from 1921, bicycles from 1883, as well as mopeds and motor-assisted bicycles, tractors from 1917 and carriages from around 1900. There are also aircraft such as a Mirage fighter jet, a helicopter and a Chirokopter, a Panzer 68/88 tank and many accessories documenting everyday life around the vehicle over the past hundred years.
Many exhibits have been restored and are in good condition. The museum is regularly open only on a few dates per month and only in the summer half-year; groups can arrange additional dates.
