About the museum
The Resonanzzentrum Peter Roth stands in Wildhaus at the Schwendisee, only a few minutes’ walk from the Klanghaus. It is named after the Toggenburg composer and sound researcher Peter Roth, who initiated the Klangwelt Toggenburg. It opened together with the Klanghaus in 2025; the modern timber building was designed by the firm Graber Pulver with Martina Hauser.
On the ground floor are the reception and information point of the Klangwelt as well as a shop. One floor up is a versatile seminar and meeting room for courses, workshops and events, which can also be rented.
The heart of the building is the “Klangdom” on the top floor, a walk-in room with 34 loudspeakers that offers immersive sound and listening experiences in 360 degrees and makes natural and sound spheres audible in 3D. The interactive exhibition of the Resonanzraum tells the story of the Klangwelt and the Klanghaus, honors the life’s work of Peter Roth and introduces themes such as resonance, nature and culture. Public guided tours take place on Sundays.
