About the museum

The association Rock- & Pop-Museum Niederbüren was founded on April 30, 2012. Its aim: Switzerland should have a real museum for popular music, in which future generations can experience around 80 years of music history. The association especially wants to reach teachers and schools so that knowledge of earlier decades of pop music is not lost.

The museum in the Sornpark shows the development of popular music from its beginnings in the 20th century up to the 2000s. The collection includes gold and platinum records, photographs, autographs, and film and sound files. It is presented on guided tours in which the guides tell stories about musical eras, bands, artists or individual songs.

The museum sees itself as Switzerland's first rock and pop museum. The association has around 600 members. In addition there is a virtual tour online and occasional evening events, such as photo shows.
