About the museum
The Spazio Officina is the exhibition and event hall of the Centro Culturale Chiasso, right next to the m.a.x. museo and opposite the Cinema Teatro, a few steps from the main street Corso San Gottardo. The building was formerly a vehicle repair workshop. In 2005 it was completely converted by the architects Pia Durisch and Aldo Nolli in the spirit of industrial archaeology.
The name recalls the former workshop and at the same time stands for culture in the making. The large, freely configurable hall of 800 square metres is used for exhibitions organised by the Culture Department of the City of Chiasso and can be rented for congresses, concerts, festivals and other events; rental for exhibitions is excluded. A visit can be combined with the m.a.x. museo in a combined ticket.

By public transit
Chiasso railway station; connections to Autolinee mendrisiensi buses and cross-border lines.
The venue is next to the m.a.x. museo, opposite the Cinema Teatro and a few metres from Corso San Gottardo; by car, take the Chiasso Sud motorway exit.
