About the museum
Borough Road Gallery is an art gallery of London South Bank University, in the university's Borough Road building in Southwark. It opened in June 2012 with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and is dedicated to the painter David Bomberg, who taught at the Borough Polytechnic, the predecessor of the university.
The gallery is the home of the Sarah Rose Collection, which holds about 150 paintings, drawings and prints by Bomberg and by artists of the Borough Group, among them Dennis Creffield, Cliff Holden, Thomas Holden, Edna Mann, Dorothy Mead and Miles Richmond.
The gallery mounts a changing programme of exhibitions drawn from the collection and runs talks, workshops and research projects. The related Borough Road Collection Archive website publishes new writing, recordings and digital projects about the collection.
