About the museum
The Breamish Valley archaeology exhibition is a small display in the village of Ingram, in the Cheviot Hills of Northumberland National Park. It is shown in the building of the former National Park visitor centre, which now houses Ingram Café, a family-run café that is open seven days a week.
The exhibition presents finds that archaeologists have recovered over the years in the valley of the River Breamish and explains the history of the area. The valley is rich in prehistoric sites. A walk of about forty minutes from Ingram leads to Brough Law, an Iron Age hillfort.
The exhibition has no separate entrance or staff. Visitors see it as part of a visit to the café and the information point of the National Park.
