About the museum
The Treasury is an exhibition room in Guildford Cathedral, just beyond the Regimental Chapel. It shows the cathedral's own silver together with a large group of chalices, patens, flagons and alms dishes, and some curiosities, gathered from parishes across the Diocese of Guildford.
The pieces cover a wide range of dates, from a 12th-century bronze thurible cover to a 21st-century silver-gilt ciborium. The display also includes memorabilia that illustrate the history of the cathedral itself.
The exhibition changes from time to time, with recent acquisitions and loans shown alongside the permanent items, so a repeat visit can show something new.
