About the museum
Queensferry Museum, run by Culture Edinburgh for the City of Edinburgh Council, tells the story of historic Queensferry and the neighbouring village of Dalmeny. Its themes are social history, local folk traditions and civic engineering. The museum has views over the Firth of Forth and the Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The permanent displays set the engineering of the rail bridge beside the civic history of the burgh, with objects and photographs of everyday life and traditions particular to "the Ferry". Community groups also curate temporary exhibitions in the museum.
