About the museum
The Micro Museum in Ramsgate celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2024, which places its opening in 2014. It presents itself as a museum of vintage computers and retro gaming fun, and it is run by its owners with help from volunteers.
The museum is housed on the corner of Church Hill and Broad Street, next to the church of St George the Martyr. Its displays show computers from earlier decades and explain how computing developed, while a games area lets visitors try retro games for themselves; play is included in the entry price.
The museum opens only on published weekend afternoons during its main season, and sometimes for a short opening between Christmas and New Year.
