Over het museum
The museum was founded in 1969 by an association of vintage car enthusiasts, run by volunteers. It is set up in the leisure park of the Haye forest, on the outskirts of Nancy, in a building of a former NATO military base that the American army had left in 1967.
The permanent exhibition brings together about 80 cars, most built between 1900 and 1980. Many vehicles belong to association members, who lend them to the museum, so the collection changes regularly. It showcases vanished French brands such as De Dion-Bouton, Delage, Panhard-Levassor, Simca or Matra. The oldest vehicle is a 1909 Latil fire truck, and the most recent a 1995 Renault Spider roadster.
The route also includes some vintage motorcycles and mopeds, an important collection of oil cans, enamel signs, posters and period garage equipment. Two themed exhibitions are organized each year, in spring and autumn.
