Over het museum
Schnapps distilling has a long tradition in Luxembourg: at the start of the 20th century there were some 2,000 distilleries in the country. In 1907, Jean Adam had a distilling plant built on his farm “a Lammesch” in Kehlen that was very modern for its time.
In 2007, Robert and Susi Adam-Stomp decided to set up a distillery museum on the estate. It displays stills, equipment and objects related to the distiller's trade, and is considered unique in the Greater Region. Further themes are rural life and customs around 1900.
A special piece is a steam engine by Heinrich Lanz from 1899, which volunteers from the friends' association “Frënn vum Brennereimusee” painstakingly restored. A craft distillery continues to operate on the farm, producing schnapps, liqueurs and gin.
