Over het museum
The Elektrotechnické muzeum Zubrnice was founded by a civic association with the aim of presenting historical radios, gramophones and old vacuum tubes. Alongside consumer electrical equipment, the exhibition also includes an H0 model railway in an L shape, roughly 5 × 4 metres. Its model is the line Velké Březno – Lovečkovice – Verneřice – Úštěk, on which operation was stopped on 27 May 1978.
The exhibition is housed in a barn in the centre of the village of Zubrnice, close to the Muzeum lidové architektury (Museum of Folk Architecture) and the railway station, where the temporary terminus of the museum railway and a railway museum are located. The association works with the Zubrnická museální železnice society, which provided historical records for building the layout.
The model shows the stations Lovečkovice, Verneřice and Levín with their surrounding buildings, which are being built according to the original documentation. Historical trains run directly from Ústí nad Labem to Zubrnice. According to the association’s website, work on the layout was last carried out in 2017.
