Over het museum

Aerospace Bristol is run by the Bristol Aero Collection Trust. The Concorde Trust was formed in 2007 to find support for a museum that could house one of the Bristol-built Concordes, and in 2014 the project received a Heritage Lottery Fund grant of 4.7 million pounds. The museum opened to the public on 17 October 2017.

The main exhibition is in a First World War hangar with Grade II listing, and a second listed hangar of the same period is used as a conservation workshop and store. Concorde is shown in a new purpose-built hangar. Concorde Alpha Foxtrot, the last Concorde to be built and the last to fly, landed at Filton in November 2003 and was moved into its new home on 7 February 2017.

The galleries follow more than a hundred years of aviation history, from early aeroplanes built at Filton through the two world wars and the space race, with hundreds of exhibits from small models to helicopters, rockets and missiles. The Bristol Britannia airliner and objects from the Brabazon airliner are also on show. Visitors can go on board Concorde and a Bristol Freighter, watch volunteers at work in the conservation hangar, and take part in talks and hands-on activities.
