Om museet

The museum in the Peter-Anich-Haus in Oberperfuss was set up as early as 1946 in the old elementary school in Riedl and is considered Tyrol's oldest village museum. It honors three sons of the village who achieved importance far beyond it: the peasant cartographers Peter Anich (1723–1766) and Blasius Hueber (1735–1814), and the organ-building family Mathias and Franz Weber.

The exhibition room is on the first floor of the converted association building; the ground floor houses an event hall. On display are three celestial globes and two terrestrial globes that Peter Anich made in 1758, as well as segment maps, measuring instruments, compasses, sundials and handwritten notes. Anich and Hueber together created the Atlas Tyrolensis, the first map of Tyrol based on land surveying; Hueber completed it after Anich's death, and it appeared as a copperplate engraving in 1774.

Another area is devoted to the Weber organ builders: portraits, a photo documentation of organs in North, South and East Tyrol, tools and accessories, and an organ of the family in the exhibition room. The museum opens by prior appointment. Guided tours are offered for adults and for children from primary school age onward.
