Om museet
Alberto Sols was a physician, researcher and scientist from Sax, awarded the Prince of Asturias Award for Scientific Research in 1981. In September 2007 the Centro de Estudios y Archivo Histórico Municipal Alberto Sols (CEAHM) opened in his birthplace, with contributions from the Sax town council and the Ministerio de Fomento.
The building, dating from the 19th century, stands in the town's historic centre. Its collections bring together Alberto Sols's legacy, including his personal effects, his library, part of his studies and the study he occupied in Madrid, together with the documentation of Sax's historical archive.
The ground floor recreates that study and has a screening room and a large patio; the second floor has two exhibition rooms. The centre also hosts meetings, conferences, lectures, exhibitions and concerts.
