Om museet

CITUR opened in 2011 as a multifunctional building in the historic centre of Burgos, a few metres from the cathedral, on Calle Nuño Rasura. The municipal tourist office operates on the ground floor, providing information on museums, monuments, routes and accommodation, and other floors house offices and exhibition spaces.

On basement level 1 (planta -1) “En busca de la luz: el arte de las vidrieras” is shown, a permanent exhibition of Burgos City Council that traces the history of stained glass in the city from the 12th century onwards. It combines information panels, a video of about five minutes and replicas of two stained-glass windows: the Pentecost window from the Cartuja de Miraflores and the Virgin and Child window from Las Huelgas. On the first floor there is also a space on design in the world of wine, which can be visited by prior booking.
