A Romantic castle from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries in the Litovel and Mohelnice landscape, rebuilt in 1896–1910 into its present form, where fairy tales and films have been shot.

Om museet
Bouzov Castle was founded at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. Until 1696 it was owned alternately by members of various Czech and Moravian noble families; the estate with the castle was then bought by the Teutonic Order. It has been state property since 1945, and in 1999 it was declared a national cultural monument.
The castle acquired the present form of a typical Romantic residence, with battlements, bay windows, loopholes and gargoyles, after an extensive rebuilding in 1896–1910. It is fully furnished with paintings, art objects and historical as well as made-to-measure furniture. Its two working drawbridges and portcullis are unique; they can be seen in operation on festive occasions, for example at the opening and closing of the season, at exhibition openings, the castle market and the carnival.
The castle is a popular venue for concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions and weddings, and it offers a range of halls and courtyards for hire. It has also appeared in many fairy tales and historical films. It is administered by the National Heritage Institute, which offers visitors several tour routes, from the representative and residential rooms to the climb up the Hláska tower.

The price applies to adults aged 25 to 64 for the basic route “Hrad se představuje” with commentary in Czech. Free admission for school group supervision (1 person per 10 children), guides of groups of 15 or more, holders of the ICOMOS card, the culture-sector employee card and NPÚ free tickets.

From Olomouc a bus runs to Bouzov from the main railway station; the operator limits the connections.
From Olomouc take road 35 towards Hradec Králové, exit 248, then roads 635, 373 and 37313 to Bouzov.
