Om museet

The heritage room commemorates the Danube Swabian municipality of Neu-Pasua (today Nova Pazova near Belgrade), which had grown to around 6,000 inhabitants by 1944. After flight and expulsion, Reutlingen took on sponsorship of the municipality in 1976, and the city made rooms in the Alte Bürgerspital (Old Citizens' Hospital) available to the foundation. The museum opened in 1999.

The exhibition consists mainly of original pieces that fellow townspeople from Neu-Pasua had brought with them, and of replicas made in the new homeland. It shows agricultural tools, models, and parts of the Neu-Pasua costume, and offers insight into the daily life, customs, traditions, and culture of the village community, which existed for about 150 years on the lower Danube.

Transport & parkering

The museum is in the Old Citizens' Hospital, in the park on Gustav-Wagner-Straße. From the city center, take the L 378; at the youth center, turn left into Gustav-Wagner-Straße.
