Om museet
The mill in the Tutting district of Kirchham dates back to around 1300. The present building largely dates from the early 19th century and, together with older remains, stands on the Kößlarner Bach. It is a typical example of the many water mills that once worked along this stream.
Grain was ground and wood was sawn here. During the 20th century the small business was gradually converted to newer technology. In 1988 the Bruckmeier milling family finally closed the business; since then the building has served as a museum.
Visitors find a fully equipped mill and sawmill, with a turbine drive, machines, work tools and implements. An exhibition explains milling and mills in general as well as the history of milling in the region. Mill festivals and occasional special exhibitions complement the program.
