Traktor-Museum am Bahnhof

Om museet

The Traktor-Museum am Bahnhof was founded in 2008 on the initiative of members of the association Traktor-Kult e. V., which by its own account fulfilled a "Männertraum" (men’s dream). It is housed in an old freight hall right next to the Schwarzenbach an der Saale station.

On display are around 100 historical tractors from makes such as Lanz, MAN, Porsche, Deutz, Schlüter and Fendt, dating from 1930 to 1960, plus stationary engines and a large collection of model vehicles from agriculture and forestry. Individual machines come with their own stories, such as a tractor that the mayor of the time used for his official duties.

The exhibition changes, and on special occasions vintage tractors are brought out of the museum and driven through the town, for example in the parade to the Schwarzenbacher Wiesenfest in July. The museum is run by volunteers and is an acceptance point for the Ehrenamtskarte (volunteer card).
