About the museum
The Smoufelbeekhoeve, close to the church in Donk, was a mixed farm for four generations, with dairy cows, fattening cattle and arable farming. In 2001 the farm was converted into an agricultural museum.
The museum consists of three parts: a historic wagon-making workshop, a collection of old rural farm and household tools, and a collection of vintage tractors. In the large barn, an abundance of farm implements and machines greets you as you walk in. According to a regional tourism website, there is also a rebuilt wagon-making workshop of the Henneman family from Maldegem and a fully equipped forge to see.
Groups can visit the museum by reservation, with expert explanation from a guide. The municipality of Maldegem recommends it to anyone with a strong interest in rural life in the past, and lists it among the indoor activities for bad weather.
