Temporarily closed (expected until 2026). The museum is closed for renovation works and reopens from autumn 2026, Thursday to Sunday.

About the museum

The FeliXart Museum opened in 1996 in Drogenbos, in the centre of a small, highly urbanised municipality near Brussels. It stands on the former estate of Felix De Boeck, a painter-farmer and one of the pioneers of Belgian abstract art, in an oasis of about five hectares of greenery. The museum focuses on historical and contemporary avant-garde art and has grown into a centre of expertise on the interwar period and abstract modernism.

The modern museum building, full of daylight, was designed by the architect Rob Geys, entirely in the spirit of De Boeck's geometric work. The collection numbers around 750 works, with De Boeck's oeuvre as the common thread of three exhibition platforms: Aspecten, Reflecties and Talenten. Aspecten shows each time a distinctive selection from De Boeck's collection, Reflecties puts his contemporaries and successors in the spotlight, and Talenten gives young artists the chance to show in a museum setting what they make.

Next to the museum building stands the protected, restored 18th-century farm where Felix De Boeck lived and painted, with his studio. The high-stem orchard around the farm is also protected. Under the name FeliXeco, the grounds also have an ecological strand with vegetable and herb gardens and a biodiversity project. The museum is currently closed for renovation works and intends to welcome visitors again from autumn 2026.
