About the museum
GoalMine is an interactive football experience centre in the stadium of KRC Genk, the Cegeka Arena (formerly Luminus Arena). The centre calls itself unique in Belgium. It covers the game of football, the players and their support staff, the supporters, the stadiums and the long tradition of the sport, with a tribute to the pioneers of the Limburg mining teams. Football is presented as a historical and current social phenomenon.
The route covers more than 600 m² and is designed as an interactive journey through the football world, with film footage, photographs, sound environments, interviews and interactive applications. Visitors can watch, listen, look things up and play. GoalMine is also part of the stadium tour of the Cegeka Arena, in which a guide takes visitors behind the scenes of the stadium.
