About the museum
The Design Museum Prague opened its doors on 13 April 2025 in a historic house in Malá Strana, a few steps from Charles Bridge. The museum aims to show the story of design in motion, from iconic objects of the past to visions of the future, and to appeal to everyone fascinated by architecture, visual culture and the stories behind the objects around us.
The visit begins in the shop with a curated selection of design, where tickets are also sold, and continues into the museum spaces. The house includes an inner courtyard with seating, where visitors can rest or work; coffee is included in the price of the ticket.
The museum hosts exhibitions devoted to architecture, interiors, furniture and applied objects, and publishes the blog Příběhy designu (Design Stories), which covers, for example, Czechoslovak architecture and design of the 20th century.
