About the museum
HistoryPark Ledčice is an archaeological open-air park (archeoskanzen) on the edge of the village of Ledčice in the Mělník area. It has been operating since 2015, and during the school year it serves mainly schools and nursery schools as a place where history is taught visually and practically.
During the summer holidays the site opens to the general public and turns into a prehistoric playground for families with children. Visitors can uncover a prehistoric grave at the archaeological site, search for objects with a metal detector, shoot with a bow, try textile or pottery workshops, or follow the traces of dinosaurs. The site also includes a Roman camp and a covered barn with a 3D sandpit and prehistoric workshops.
The park offers around thirteen stations and other activities, as well as puppet theatres, sword-fighting performances and summer theme days, such as meetings with an archaeologist. One ticket is valid for all the stations.
