About the museum
The Museum of Agricultural Technology in Čáslav is a branch of the National Agricultural Museum. The exhibition was set up in 2004 on the site of a former military motor pool and a depot of military equipment from the 1950s (20th century). Across this large area you can see one of the most comprehensive collections of production series of agricultural machinery, tractors, threshers and historic ploughs.
The value of the collection lies above all in its completeness: the museum collects production series of machines from brands such as Škoda, Zetor, Svoboda and Wikov, as well as foreign models. Exhibits include one of three prototypes of the SM 500 combine harvester, the only surviving Oekonom motor plough, one of two surviving Praga motor ploughs and a prototype of the Škoda HT 25 tractor from 1930. The collection also includes the archaic plough of the Veverka cousins and agricultural machinery from the First Republic (interwar period).
The exhibition “Dřinu strojům? Dřinu strojům!” in the modern exhibition hall presents the development of agricultural machinery in the context of Czech and world events, and above all the development of energy use to power machines. A cycle path runs around the site, and visitors are also offered a traffic playground, a pumptrack and a workout zone.
