About the museum

Henrik Nielsen, who had always been interested in farming and especially in the gray Ferguson tractors, set up a museum on his birthplace, the Ankerslund farm in Stourup, and opened it in 2002. The museum is entirely privately owned and receives no state subsidies. Most of the tractors were restored by the founder himself together with a Thursday group of tinkerers.

The collection ranges from a Ford T from 1919 – with which Harry Ferguson made his first plowing trials – to the present day and includes at least one Ferguson from every model year from 1939 to 1970. Added to this are special models for viticulture and fruit growing, industry and the military, French variants, a replica of the tractor with which Edmund Hillary reached the South Pole in 1958, as well as a Ferguson bus, motorcycles, mopeds and classic cars.

In 2009, Nielsen erected a twelve-meter-high monument to the little gray tractor made of concrete, steel and 30 unrestored Ferguson tractors. The farm's half-timbered barn from 1869 collapsed in a storm in October 2013, was rebuilt with a thatched roof in 2014 and now also serves for parties. Visitors experience the farm with animals in the stable and the workshop, where work on new projects is constantly under way.
