Ulbjerg Traktormuseum
Small volunteer-run museum between Ulbjerg and Skals with around 70 vintage tractors from the era of agricultural mechanization.
About the museum
The tractor museum in Ulbjerg was founded in 1991 on the initiative of local people. Since then it has been run by a friends' association founded specifically for building and operating a tractor museum. Around 60 members keep the museum going with their dues and above all with their own work.
At its center is an agricultural history collection of about 70 vintage tractors of various makes and designs. They date mostly from the years around 1940 to 1960, the phase in which Danish agriculture switched from horses to machines. The vehicles belong to private collectors from the region, who lend them to the museum; most have been restored.
The tractor display is complemented by engines, farm machinery and field implements. Over the year the association organizes event days: at the season opening in May there is, among other things, tractor ring riding, in August a harvest day with historic machines, and in September a plowing competition with vintage tractors in the fields near the museum.
