About the museum
The museum is in Holdre loss, whose main building was constructed around 1910 to a design by Otto Wildau during the time of Woldemar von Ditmar. After the estate was expropriated in 1919, the building housed a school. The founder of the piano museum is the composer Alo Põldmäe, and its aim is to assemble as complete a collection of Estonian pianos as possible, including instruments named after well-known people. The permanent exhibition “Eesti klaver” received the main Kultuuri Teo (Cultural Deed) award in 2022.
