About the museum
The Tõstamaa Muuseum (Tõstamaa Museum) opened in 2006 in the cellar and chimney hall of Tõstamaa manor. The museum tells the story of local life through objects and photographs.
The cellar hall displays tools, school supplies, household objects, objects from the Soviet era and objects connected with maritime research and fishing. On the first floor, in the chimney hall, there is a fireplace chimney and changing temporary exhibitions. In the manor complex there is also a separate cellar hall with a private collection on the history of cinema, and frescoes.
From September to the end of May, visits to the manor and the museum are possible only with a guide, by prior arrangement; a tour lasts 45 minutes to one hour.
