About the museum
The Hausjärvi Local Heritage Museum was founded in 1949. The manor's management made available to the local heritage association a granary about a hundred years old beside the church as the museum building, and villagers helped gather objects from all over the parish. It is the oldest local heritage museum in Kanta-Häme.
The permanent exhibition was renewed and reopened in 2021. It presents the central themes of Hausjärvi's history by means of objects, photographs and texts. The oldest objects are from the Stone Age, but most are from the 18th to 20th centuries.
