About the museum
Matilda Roslin-Kalliola (1837–1923) was a well-known folk writer in her day, whose output reflects a sense of kinship and love of the homeland. In 1899, after the February Manifesto, she started a large petition.
Her cottage in Merikarvia has been preserved as one of the few Finnish writers’ homes. The writer’s home is open to groups by arrangement, and admission is free.
