About the museum
The Lodève hall was built in 1819 on the site of the former parish church of Saint-Pierre. It is listed as a historic monument and today bears the name of the Lodève sculptor Paul Dardé, a pupil of Rodin.
The building houses monumental works by the artist: the “Cheminée monumentale”, designed for the 1925 Exposition des arts décoratifs, the “Christ aux outrages”, and a cast of the Homme de Néandertal. The hall is also used as a venue for town events.
