About the museum
The Espace Histo Bus Dauphinois is a museum space run by the association Standard 216 – Histo Bus Grenoblois. Founded in 1989, the association has around sixty members who preserve and promote the history of public transport in the Grenoble region. It has rescued some thirty buses, trolleybuses and coaches and built up an important archive.
The collection includes about forty vehicles, mostly those that ran in the Grenoble area and in the Isère department: charabancs, coaches, buses, articulated buses, midibuses and trolleybuses. It is complemented by engines and mechanical parts, a section on trams with models, and a room on the La Mure train with a large model of the line. Tribute is paid to regional manufacturers such as Berliet, Saviem and Belle-Clot.
On special open days, notably during the Nuit européenne des musées (European Museum Night) and European Heritage Days, rides in coaches or old buses are offered.
