About the museum
The Arhome museum was created in 2005 by former employees of the ARaymond company, most of them retired. They wanted to make known the family, human and industrial adventure of a company born in Grenoble, on the Cours Berriat, more than a century and a half ago.
The company invented the press stud at the end of the 19th century before becoming a multinational, today one of the major European names in automotive fastening. The route follows this development over time and also presents the trade of fastening, Grenoble glove-making and the rise of the automobile.
The visit is designed to be experimental and playful: it appeals to the senses and can be made freely or with a facilitator. The museum is open to the public on two Wednesdays a month during the school year and welcomes groups and school classes all year round by appointment.
