About the museum

Lafayette Anticipations is the corporate foundation of the Galeries Lafayette group, dedicated to contemporary art. Its public-interest mission was defined in 2012; it offers exhibitions, residencies, encounters and family activities, with free access.

Since its opening in 2018, the foundation has occupied a building in the Marais transformed by Rem Koolhaas and his firm OMA. Its movable floors make it possible to constantly change the layout of the exhibition spaces. The venue also houses a café-restaurant, a bookshop, and performance and music festivals.

An endowment fund linked to the foundation builds a contemporary art collection that grows every year, mainly through works by emerging artists.
